Jeffrey Geyer Named 2023 Driver of the Year
BROOKLYN CENTER, Minn. — Jeffrey Geyer, a professional truck driver for Manning Transfer based in Blaine, Minnesota, has been recognized as the Minnesota Trucking Association’s (MTA) Driver of the Year for 2023.
The announcement was made during the MTA’s Driver of the Year Award Ceremony held on January 23, as stated in a recent news release.
“This award serves as an excellent way to recognize the top professionals in our industry. Safe driving is a significant challenge, especially given the everyday obstacles like heavy traffic, distracted drivers, and the harsh Minnesota winters. Achieving over 4 million miles of safe driving is an exceptional feat,” remarked John Hausladen, president of the MTA. “We take pride in honoring Jeff for this accomplishment.”
Geyer’s Commitment Beyond Trucking
Apart from his role in trucking, Geyer and his wife, Janet, are foster parents. Together, they have cared for a total of 18 foster children, six of whom they adopted to complement their five biological children.
High Praise from Manning Transfer
Kacie Jestus, the safety director at Manning Transfer, expressed her admiration for Geyer. “In his 17 years with us at Manning, Jeff has maintained an accident-free record, which speaks volumes about his capabilities,” Jestus stated. “He is an exemplary professional driver, mindful of both his safety and that of others on the road. Jeff is the type of driver you can rely on to complete tasks efficiently and effectively. We are truly grateful to have him on our team.”
