Ione Martin, a 31-year-old long-haul truck driver, embraces life on the road, hauling freight across state lines as part of her over nine-year career.
Martin explains, “Every day is different. My job allows me to travel through all 48 states, depending on the assigned loads. I can work up to 14 hours a day, with 11 hours dedicated to driving.”

To make her travels enjoyable, Martin balances work with leisure, prioritizing fun stops along her routes. Her go-to snacks are watermelon and Coke Zero as she listens to music or audiobooks to keep herself entertained on the road.
With her dog Wells by her side, Martin combats the isolation of long-haul trucking. She uses her TikTok account to share her experiences and inspire other women in the field, emphasizing that truck driving can be fulfilling and enjoyable.
