ALEXANDRIA, Va. — Kevin Olsen Recognized as TCA Highway Angel
The Truckload Carriers Association (TCA) has honored Kevin Olsen as a TCA Highway Angel for his swift assistance to a motorcyclist involved in an accident on the road.
Olsen, who is based in Logan, Utah, is a driver for Truline Corp, operating out of Las Vegas, Nevada.
Incident Details
On June 4 at approximately 9:10 a.m., while driving in Garden City, Utah, Olsen was heading to a client when he witnessed a motorcyclist lose control and crash on US-89N.
Providing Aid
“I stopped and assessed the situation,” Olsen recounted. “He was struggling to breathe, likely due to the impact with the pavement.”
Olsen provided the injured motorcyclist with ibuprofen and water, allowing him to regain his breath. Although the motorcyclist reported rib pain, he did not show any other apparent injuries. In an area without cellphone service, a passerby managed to call emergency services using a satellite phone. Additionally, Olsen ensured that other drivers proceeded carefully to avoid further accidents. He remained at the scene for more than 90 minutes, assisting until emergency responders advised him he could leave.
A Personal Connection
“I didn’t want to leave him without support,” Olsen expressed. “As a motorcyclist myself, this situation could have easily been me — I felt it was my duty to ensure his well-being.”
