New Dealership in Greenfield
GREENFIELD — The individual who acquired two local dealerships from McGovern Automotive Group approximately four months ago is set to launch Greenfield Truck & Equipment on Beacon Street in the coming weeks.
Acquisition Details
Alex Castergini Jr. finalized the purchase of McGovern Chrysler Jeep Dodge Ram located at 39 Beacon St. and McGovern Chevrolet at 54 Main St. Although he initially contemplated closing the Beacon Street location because he was reluctant to relocate the business as required by manufacturers, he opted to proceed after identifying a necessity in the area.
Identifying Community Needs
“I recognized there was a demand nearby. We had the facility, so we began brainstorming what to do with it, and this is what we decided on,” he stated on Monday.
Services Offered
The dealership will function as an authorized dealer of Bobcat grounds maintenance equipment and will also offer products from other brands, including BOSS snowplows, ECHO power equipment, and Billy Goat specialty turf items. Additionally, the business is exploring trailer brands and aims to sell pre-owned commercial trucks, such as dump trucks and plow trucks.
Community Engagement
“I believe we can rejuvenate the local, hometown atmosphere,” said Castergini, who recently relocated from Connecticut to Easthampton. “The service aspect will be a major part of our operations. We want to excel in service quality and will provide free pickup and delivery within Franklin County.”
Experience and Expertise
Greenfield Truck & Equipment plans to service all brands and will also offer sharpening services for chainsaws and lawnmower blades. “It’s going to be extensive,” Service Manager Scott Martowski remarked. “We’ll be conducting mobile repairs.”
Staff and Operating Hours
Martowski, who previously worked at McGovern, has 14 years of experience in Greenfield’s automotive sector. Parts Manager Andy Billiel has 25 years in the field, while Service Manager Steve Mansfield brings about seven years of experience. “We’re well-acquainted with the area and the community,” Martowski noted. The store is expected to have around six employees when operational, with hours from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday to Friday and 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturdays.
