Race Night Highlights at Grandview Speedway
Tim Buckwalter from Douglassville, Pa., clinched victory in a thrilling 30-lap T.P. Trailer Modified feature race at Grandview Speedway. He took the lead with just six laps remaining, marking his first win of the season and the fourth of his career at this venue.
Close behind, Parker Guldin from Temple, Pa., was able to resist fierce mid-race challenges from runner-up Jesse Landis of Gilbertsville, Pa. This victory was Guldin’s first of the year, and it broke his streak of difficult races, also marking his return to victory lane since April 2022 in the 25-lap T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman event.
The night also featured the Outlaw Racing Series Vintage cars, where Gage Phillips claimed victory in the Modified division and Sven Olson won in the Sportsman class. Both winners received bonus prizes ($300 for Modified and $200 for Sportsman) from T.P. Trailers and Truck Equipment, the sponsors for these races.
In the T.P. Trailer Modified race, Matt Yoder initially took the lead, but Buckwalter and several others quickly contested positions. As the race progressed, tension mounted, especially during a caution on lap 17 which reshuffled the competitors. Buckwalter capitalized after the restart, eventually overtaking Yoder after a series of lead changes, leading to a captivating conclusion.
As the laps wound down, Buckwalter distanced himself slightly from the pack, ending up as the eleventh different winner in the T.P. Trailer Modified division this season. Following him were Louden Reimert and Jeff Strunk in the top three, along with Jared Umbenhauer and Yoder, who rounded out the top five.
Guldin’s journey in the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman feature began slowly, marred by five caution flags in the first eight laps. However, he regained momentum and established a lead that he gradually expanded, ultimately marking him as the tenth different driver to win in this division this year.
This week at Grandview Speedway, another NASCAR Advance Auto Parts Weekly Series event is scheduled, featuring both the T.P. Trailer Modifieds and T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman. The event will take place on August 23, with details including pit and grandstand opening times, admission prices, and more, readily available via the Speedway’s official website or social media channels.
