Gradient AI Partners with ATTIC, RRG for Improved Claims Management

Gradient AI, a key provider of artificial intelligence solutions for the insurance sector, has announced that the American Trucking and Transportation Insurance Company (ATTIC, RRG) has chosen its claims management solution. This technology aims to enhance the prediction of claim risks, improve claims triage, and expedite the resolution of commercial transportation claims in a cost-effective manner.

About ATTIC, RRG

ATTIC, RRG is a member-based risk retention group focusing on the commercial automotive industry, offering auto liability insurance to small and mid-sized trucking firms. The organization is dedicated to giving motor carriers increased control over their insurance processes, providing access to substantial premium limits and high deductible options without excessive collateral demands.

Challenges in the Trucking Industry

Recent years have seen a dramatic rise in claim verdicts within the trucking industry, as highlighted by research from the American Transportation Research Institute. This increase is linked to several factors, including more injury and fatality incidents involving commercial trucks, alongside social inflation causing claims to outpace general economic inflation. In light of these challenges, ATTIC and other insurers in the sector have been looking into innovative strategies for efficient claim management and outcome prediction.

Limitations of Traditional Claims Prediction

Before adopting Gradient AI’s solutions, ATTIC’s approach to claim predictions relied heavily on an adjuster’s past experience and instincts. However, limited access to third-party data and machine-learning technology restricted their ability to gauge performance against other insurers in similar auto incident cases. Recognizing this limitation, ATTIC sought more extensive datasets and advanced tools to enhance outcomes for their members.

Why ATTIC Chose Gradient AI

ATTIC, RRG opted for Gradient AI due to its established expertise in the commercial auto insurance field, as well as its extensive data lake containing millions of claims and robust predictive analytics tools. These resources will help ATTIC assess claims more effectively, enabling the identification of high-risk cases for faster resolution by seasoned adjusters, which improves operational efficiency.

Comments from Leadership

“Gradient AI’s commercial auto industry data lake and machine learning capabilities are transformative for us,” said Ken Crippen, CEO of ATTIC, RRG. “By using Gradient AI’s claims solution, we access vast datasets to better anticipate claim outcomes earlier in their life cycles. This capability enhances our financial stability, expedites claims resolution, and leads to significant cost savings for our member clients.”

Integration with Origami Risk

ATTIC, RRG is employing Gradient AI’s claims management system within the Origami Risk platform. The collaboration between Gradient AI and Origami Risk ensures a seamless solution for ATTIC and other insurers utilizing the Origami platform.

Industry Insights from Gradient AI

“With commercial automotive businesses facing surges in liability and claims costs, AI-driven claims management is essential for predicting and managing these expenses,” noted Stan Smith, CEO of Gradient AI. “We are pleased that ATTIC, RRG chose Gradient AI to enhance their claims management processes, and we look forward to partnering with Origami Risk to achieve superior outcomes for the commercial auto sector. The growing interest from mid-sized providers and self-insured businesses underscores the challenges they face and the potential rewards of AI-enabled claims management.”
