From Truck Driver to YouTube Star: The Journey of Rajesh Rawani
NEW DELHI: Rajesh Rawani, a seasoned truck driver with 25 years of experience on India’s roads, has recently risen to fame as a well-known YouTuber.
Residing in Jamtara, Jharkhand, Rawani has garnered the affection of over 1.86 million subscribers on YouTube. His unique combination of trucking knowledge and culinary enthusiasm has captured a large audience.
His newfound YouTube success has allowed him to purchase a new home, marking a significant milestone attributed to his increasing online earnings.
In a recent podcast interview with Siddharth Kannan, Rawani shared insights into his financial journey and personal life, including details about building his first house, a project he embarked upon due to the stability and income from his YouTube channel.
Rawani recounted a serious accident that left him with a hand injury, yet he persisted in driving to support his family and complete his new home. He expressed his intention to continue driving as long as his health permits, until the house construction is finalized.
When discussing his income, Rawani compared his truck driving earnings, which range from Rs 25,000 to Rs 30,000 monthly, to his YouTube earnings, which fluctuate significantly. His YouTube revenue can range from Rs 4 lakh to Rs 5 lakh each month, with his peak earnings reaching Rs 10 lakh.
Relating his rise to fame, Rawani mentioned that a viral video with a voiceover sparked audience interest, leading to requests for a face reveal. His son helped by posting a video showcasing Rawani’s face, which quickly accumulated 4.5 lakh views in just one day. He expressed deep gratitude to his family, especially his children, who have played a crucial role in managing the YouTube channel alongside their trucking business.
Having grown up in Jharkhand in a challenging environment, Rawani was raised in a family where his father, also a driver, was the sole provider for five members. With a meager monthly contribution of Rs 500, they often faced financial struggles and relied on borrowed funds. Despite these difficulties, Rawani has made tremendous strides towards success.
