FORT LUPTON, Colo.

May 10, 2025
/PRNewswire/ — With close to 75 years of expertise in the heavy-duty truck sector, the Merritt companies, including Merritt Aluminum Products and Merritt Trailers, are excited to announce their acquisition of Magnum Trailer & Equipment, a well-regarded company based in British Columbia, Canada that operates three divisions: Truck Accessories, Trailer Manufacturing, and Service.

Merritt Companies, parent company to Merritt Aluminum Products and Merritt Trailers, acquires Magnum Trailer & Equipment out of Abbotsford, BC, Canada in May 2025.

The Truck Accessories division of Magnum Trailer & Equipment is well-known for its sturdy aluminum moose guards and modular front-end protection systems tailored for Class 8 trucks. This division will closely collaborate with Merritt Aluminum Products to develop a comprehensive aluminum solution for clientele in the heavy-duty trucking sector.

“This acquisition strengthens our strategic aim of offering the finest aluminum products available by merging our organizations’ strengths,” stated Taylor Merritt, the CEO of Merritt Companies. “Our goal is to generate more value for customers, enhance innovation, and uphold the shared values that have contributed to our successes.”

Key Benefits of the Acquisition Include:

A Broader, Stronger Product Portfolio:
The newly combined product lineup offers unmatched coverage and adaptability for both heavy and light-duty truck customers, ranging from rugged front-end guards to intelligently designed storage solutions.

Expanded Customer Support & Distribution Network:
Customers will enjoy improved product accessibility and expedited, responsive service thanks to a broader geographic presence.

Accelerated Innovation & Engineering Power:
Merging the engineering teams and resources will foster advanced product development and quicker market introductions.

One Unified Commitment to Excellence:
Our collective dedication to quality, performance, and customer satisfaction remains central to every decision we make—together, we will be even more effective.

All divisions of Magnum Trailer & Equipment will maintain their distinct strengths while gaining additional resources and support. Notably, the Truck Accessories division will engage in the closest partnership with Merritt Aluminum Products due to their highly compatible offerings.

“Merritt’s acquisition of Magnum represents an exciting new chapter for our company. Our values align perfectly, and our product ranges complement one another,” said Andrew Taylor, CEO of Magnum Trailer & Equipment. “We anticipate strategically driving growth together.”

“This acquisition holds both strategic and personal significance,” added Taylor Merritt. “Our family’s heritage is rooted in the Pacific Northwest, where we founded our company almost 75 years ago. We have long operated in both the PNW and Western Canada, so welcoming Magnum Trailer & Equipment from beautiful British Columbia feels like returning home.”
