Develon Launches Next-Generation DA45 Articulated Dump Truck
Develon has introduced the latest iteration of its DA45 articulated dump truck, which is the largest model in its range. This new version features an enhanced cab design and advanced production and safety technologies.
According to Jay Patel, the product manager at Develon, the interior of the new DA45-7 has been “completely reimagined.” The design has shifted from a traditional heavy-equipment aesthetic to a more sophisticated, automotive-inspired environment.
The cab is equipped with climate control systems, including heating and air conditioning, as well as an adjustable heated air-suspension seat. A standard 12-inch touchscreen monitor provides comprehensive visibility of the machine’s data, status updates, and settings. Positioned at eye level, it allows operators to maintain focus on the road while displaying real-time information such as speed, RPMs, fuel levels, consumption rates, engine temperature, and hydraulic oil conditions, along with camera feeds.
Additional advanced real-time functions displayed on the monitor include:
- Active Payload Measuring System: Shows the weight of each load to avoid overloading or underloading.
- Gradient Meter: Tracks the machine’s incline to enhance safety and reduce tipping risk.
For improved safety, the 89,508-pound-payload ADT features an Auto-Hold brake function. This system automatically engages the brakes and shifts the truck into neutral when the Auto-Hold button is pressed, ensuring the truck remains stationary during loading and unloading. The hold brake is released automatically when the operator accelerates, and it assists on inclines, eliminating the need for two-foot operation when climbing hills.
Continuing with the automotive styling, the parking brake switch has been transformed into a lever that is pulled to set and pressed down to release. The DA45-7 is powered by a 483-net-horsepower Scania engine that complies with Tier 4 Final emissions regulations without the need for a diesel particulate filter.
Other notable features of the new articulated dump truck include:
- Front-mounted turning ring for even weight distribution.
- Free-swinging rear tandem bogie to maintain traction on rough terrain.
- Hydro-gas front suspension for improved ride quality.
- Automatic central lubrication system.
- Bed heater to prevent material adhesion.
- Adjustable steering column and mirrors.
- Standard radio with MP3, digital audio, and Bluetooth connectivity.
- Ground-level fluid fill points and gauges.
- Tilting cab for easy service access.
- Telematics through My Develon for remote monitoring of fuel usage and machine health.
