Mystery Figure Captured on Truck Driver’s Dashcam in Arizona

A dashcam video recorded by a truck driver in Arizona features a strange figure appearing on an empty road, sparking conversations about potential supernatural activity.

Incident Overview

William Church, the truck driver in question, was driving along Arizona State Route 87 on Saturday, March 11, when he noticed a bright flash on his dashcam. He suggested that the flickering figure might be a ghost, according to reports from FOX Television Stations.

Time and Location of the Sightings

The sighting occurred around 2:30 a.m. local time as Church passed the 200-mile marker on the highway, situated between Phoenix and Payson, Arizona. He stated to FOX that there were no other vehicles in sight at the time.

Dashcam Footage Details

Church described the figure as looking like a person “just standing in the roadway,” noting, “You can see the lines through the legs making the figure.” The six-second segment was recorded using a Nexar dashcam, intended for security purposes while driving.

Background on Arizona State Route 87

Arizona State Route 87 is a 272.66-mile stretch of highway that was established in 1927. It runs from State Route 264 near Second Mesa to Interstate-10 near Picacho, an unincorporated community. Given the number of fatal accidents reported on this highway, many locals speculate it could be haunted.

Recent Tragedies and Local Beliefs

Valley Chevy Dealers in Phoenix have deemed State Route 87 as one of Arizona’s “most dangerous roads,” citing its numerous turns and straight stretches. A recent two-vehicle collision near milepost 201 resulted in one fatality, although the cause was not immediately established.

Public Reactions and Theories

As viewers watched Church’s video on YouTube, many commented on the prevalence of supernatural occurrences on Arizona’s highways. Comments varied widely, with some insisting there was no glare but rather a concentrated appearance of something mysterious. Others speculated that the figure could be anything from a hitchhiker to a trick of light.
