Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment Data Breach Notification

Recently, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment informed the Attorney General of Maine about a data breach that may have compromised sensitive personally identifiable information stored in its systems. The report indicated that a malicious actor accessed a database containing files related to both current and former employees using a brute force attack.

Investigation Initiated

Following the breach, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment initiated an investigation to assess the situation. The company confirmed that sensitive personal data might have been accessed by an unauthorized individual between May 20 and May 21, 2025.

Data Review Process

The investigation involved a thorough review of the affected data to identify both the types of information compromised and the specific individuals impacted. The nature of the information at risk varied by individual but included various sensitive details.

Types of Exposed Information

The potentially exposed information encompasses a range of sensitive data, which may include:

  • Name
  • Social Security number
  • Military ID number
  • Passport number
  • Date of birth
  • Tax identification number
  • Driver’s license or other government-issued ID number
  • Health insurance information
  • Health and medical information related to workers’ compensation claims

Notification Letters Sent

On July 9, 2025, Bruckner’s Truck & Equipment began mailing notification letters to those affected by the breach. The correspondence offered a detailed list of the sensitive information that was compromised and included an offer of 12 months of complimentary credit monitoring services.
