Worcester Welcomes Spring
Though winter is in full swing, Fenway Park is gearing up for spring.
The initial indication of spring on Van Ness isn’t the arrival of wildlife but the enthusiastic crowd of Red Sox supporters.
Fans gathered not to see off the team for Spring Training but to wave goodbye to the equipment truck.
Brenda Malone exclaimed, “It’s the best holiday of the year!” as the truck, known as the 53-foot Red Sox Express, departed loaded with over 20,000 baseballs, 1,100 bats, and many other essential items.
This truck’s journey will conclude at JetBlue Park in Florida, the winter training grounds for the Red Sox.
For dedicated fans, this event is a marked date on the calendar, filled with anticipation as they cheer on the truck from various locations, including Polar Park, home of the WooSox.
With dreams of baseball in the air, the truck will make it to Fort Myers in just over two days, while Worcester eagerly awaits its home opener on March 27, featuring a ceremonial first pitch by Roger Clemens.
