A well-known metal band encountered a significant issue over the weekend when their equipment truck overturned and was completely damaged following a performance.

The Texas-based metalcore band Memphis May Fire has been energizing crowds on their headlining tour alongside Rain City Drive, Nevertel, and If Not For Me. However, after their show in Detroit, Michigan on November 29, the tour experienced a challenging moment.

On their way to perform in Chicago for the November 30 show, the band’s production truck was involved in a serious accident.

“Yesterday started with a call we never wanted to receive,” shared the band’s lead vocalist, Matty Mullins, who posted a graphic image of the accident’s aftermath. “The truck carrying all of our equipment hit a patch of ice, lost control, and flipped over on the highway.”

“First responders had to cut the driver out of the wreckage, but we are extremely thankful to report that he is safe and not seriously harmed. His safety was our top concern,” Mullins explained.

While most of the production equipment was lost, Mullins praised their crew for their exceptional response, stating they “rescued what they could” and assured that the essential gear arrived in Chicago to proceed with the show. “We cannot express our gratitude enough,” he remarked.

“To our fans: thank you for being the heart and soul of this tour,” Mullins continued. “Your energy, voices, and passion make every night unforgettable, whether we have a full setup or not. We’ll give you everything we’ve got.”

“We love all of you,” Mullins concluded.

Fans responded with relief, expressing their happiness that everyone was safe and acknowledging that gear is replaceable. “You guys on stage are the real show,” one fan commented, while another praised the crew for their hard work.

The band’s tour is set to resume tonight in Boulder, Colorado, visiting various cities across the nation. Upcoming performances include stops in Boise, Idaho, on December 5, Missoula, Montana, on December 6, and Spokane, Washington, on December 7. The tour will then continue to San Luis Obispo, California, on December 9, Riverside on December 10, and Las Vegas, Nevada, on December 11. Other scheduled dates include Tucson, Arizona, on December 12, Oklahoma City on December 14, Kansas City, Missouri, on December 15, and will conclude in Fayetteville, Arkansas, at Ozark Music Hall on December 16.
