Grandview Speedway Hosts Exciting Double Header on July 1
The chance to win $10,000 and claim the Hodnett Cup is set to attract top sprint car competitors to Grandview Speedway for a thrilling Double Header on Tuesday night, July 1. This event will feature the PA 410 Sprint Speed Week Series alongside the 358 Modifieds. Notable early entries include Kyle Larson and Christopher Bell, both past winners of the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series. Other anticipated participants are Anthony Macri, seeking his first Thunder victory, as well as Danny Dietrich, Lucas Wolfe, and Troy Wagaman.
Event Schedule and Tickets
Gates will open at 5 PM, with racing set to begin at 7:30 PM. Fans can purchase advance tickets by calling 443-513-4456, where you can leave your name and ticket request. Tickets can be picked up at the Will Call Window after 4:15 PM, and grandstand entry opens at 4:30 PM. General admission tickets will be available for purchase starting at 5 PM, priced at $30 for adults, $10 for children aged 6 to 11, and free for kids under 5. The pit fee is $45, and no license is necessary.
About the Hodnett Cup
The Hodnett Cup pays tribute to Greg Hodnett, a prominent racer and multi-champion who tragically lost his life in a 2018 accident. The trophy, initially owned by Greg, has the name of each year’s winner inscribed on it. Previous champions at Grandview include Danny Dietrich (2019), Aaron Reutzel (2020), Kyle Larson (2021), and Rico Abreu in 2022 and 2023, with Logan Schuchart taking home the $10,000 prize in the 2024 event.
Pre-Race Tailgate Party
Alpine Building Supply will host a pre-race tailgate party from 4:30 to 5:30 PM behind the main grandstand. Fifty advance ticket holders will be chosen at the entrance to join this festive gathering. Attendees can enjoy food, snacks, and non-alcoholic drinks, along with a Meet & Greet featuring special guest Craig Von Dohren.
Special Merchandise for a Cause
The Alpine Thunder on the Hill Series Shirt will feature images of a 410 Sprint, a Non-Wing 410 Sprint, and a 358 Modified on the back, with logos from Alpine Building Supply and Thunder on the Hill on the front. All proceeds from shirt sales will support the Big Impact Group of Schuylkill County.
358 Modified Line-Up & Special Bonus
For the 358 Modifieds, drivers including Craig Von Dohren, Brett Kressley, Duane Howard, and others are expected to compete. Alpine Building Supply is once again offering a $2,000 bonus for a first-time Modified Thunder winner. If a new winner emerges, they could earn a total of $5,000 for the 30-lap Modified feature. Notable contenders for this bonus include Logan Watt, Louden Reimert, and others.
