Junto’s Journey to Mr. Health and Fitness

Francis Junto, a Logistics OTR driver for DGH (Dutch Gold Honey), has spent the last few weeks competing for the title of Mr. Health and Fitness, an online contest where participants share their health and body transformation stories. Since public voting began on May 7, Junto, a truck driver with over 30 years of experience, remains one of the 20 finalists in his category.

Voting is currently ongoing, with the deadline to eliminate five competitors set for today, May 23, at 9 p.m. Central Time. Supporters can vote daily for their favorites through a link shared by Junto, who notes that additional votes can be purchased, with a portion of the proceeds going to a charity focused on childhood cancer research.

The grand prize winner will receive $20,000 and a feature on the cover of Muscle & Fitness magazine. Unlike typical bodybuilders, Junto, who stands at 5’7″, transformed his physique from nearly 200 pounds over a decade ago to his current weight of 170-180 pounds.

His journey to better health began about two decades into his trucking career while working for Harley-Davidson. A wake-up call from his doctor revealed alarming health issues, prompting him to adopt a more active lifestyle, which now includes regular 5k runs, 10ks, and half marathons.

Now 57, Junto attributes his successful health journey to his commitment to fitness, managing to run even during long hours on the road. He’s been with DGH for five years and now has more opportunities to focus on his health while working in Pennsylvania and frequently traveling to New York City.

Despite the challenges of maintaining a healthy lifestyle in trucking, Junto emphasizes that it is achievable with effort. He packs nutritious meals for the road, adapting his diet to counteract the limited healthy options at truck stops. Ultimately, he advocates for prioritizing health, highlighting that it’s vital not only for oneself but also for family.

Wishing Francis the best of luck in the competition and encouraging everyone on their journey to better health. Cast your vote to support him!
