Highway Heroes Season 2: Empowering Indian Truck Drivers Through Health and Education
New Delhi: The second installment of Highway Heroes, a collaboration between Shriram Finance and TV9 Network, seeks to enhance awareness and empower truck drivers nationwide by providing education in health, finance, and technical skills. This initiative has already benefited thousands of drivers with free health check-ups, yoga training, and resources on both physical and mental well-being.
The program also allows drivers to earn a “Level 4 Certificate,” which is recognized by the Government of India and is equivalent to the completion of 12th grade. This certification aids in the renewal of Heavy Vehicle Licenses and creates new job opportunities for drivers.
The next event for this campaign is scheduled for July 31 and August 1 at Instant Transport Solution, NH-8, Jaipur Highway, Bilaspur, Haryana. Truck drivers can attend various valuable sessions, including yoga, financial training, and tuberculosis (TB) awareness, all at no cost.
Beneficial Sessions Offered to Drivers:
1. Yoga Sessions
“Truck Yoga,” led by expert trainers from The Yoga Institute, is specifically tailored for truck drivers. These sessions focus on easing physical exhaustion, alleviating back pain, and minimizing mental stress often linked to extended hours of driving.
2. Financial Training Sessions
Experts from the National Stock Exchange (NSE) will provide essential insights into financial literacy during these sessions, covering topics such as Systematic Investment Plans (SIPs), prudent investment strategies, and safeguarding against cyber fraud. The goal is to empower truck drivers with financial knowledge as well as driving skills.
3. TB Awareness Sessions
Piramal Swasthya will lead this session, educating drivers about tuberculosis (TB) symptoms, treatment options, and preventive measures. Drivers will also learn about government schemes that offer financial support and free treatment to those affected by TB.
Truck drivers are vital to the nation’s economy, making their health, safety, and skill development essential. The Highway Heroes Season 2 initiative by TV9 Network and Shriram Finance is dedicated to this cause.
