Exciting Night at Grandview Speedway

The familiar adage claims there’s a first time for everything, and Saturday night at Grandview Speedway proved that true not once, but twice. Logan Watt from Boyertown, PA, the two-time defending T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman Track Champion, overcame Ray Swinehart of Perkiomenville, PA, to secure his first-ever victory in the T.P. Trailer Modified division with just nine laps remaining during a program sponsored by Macmillan Oil Company of Allentown.

Joey Vaccaro Claims Victory

Joey Vaccaro from Reading, PA, who has pursued a win at Grandview for years, attained that milestone in thrilling fashion. He topped a multi-car contest against Ryan Graver from Lehighton, PA, and Colin Cox from Perkasie, PA, to triumph in the 55th Annual Firecracker 40 for the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division, taking home a substantial $3200 reward.

Vaccaro’s Impressive Performance

Leading throughout the 40-lap Championship, Vaccaro earned a $2000 win along with multiple bonuses from various sponsors, including funds for halfway leader and heat wins, amounting to impressive totals throughout the race.

T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman Highlights

Racers in the T.P. Truck Equipment Sportsman division showcased their skills during the longest race of the season, the Firecracker 40. From the start, Vaccaro took command, while intense battles ensued among the drivers seeking to secure top positions, leading to several early cautions.

Intense Competition for the Lead

As the race progressed, the intensity escalated with drivers like Graver and Cox making significant moves towards the front. A tense race for the lead unfolded, with positions constantly shifting, leading to a five-car showdown by the halfway mark, thanks to the efforts from Gular and Meitzler.

Final Laps and Results

With just five laps remaining, a caution led to a final sprint for victory. Vaccaro held firm against Graver’s pressure, ultimately claiming a well-deserved win after a recent setback involving a crash weeks prior. Rounding out the top positions were Graver in second, Cox in third, and Meitzler in fourth.

Logan Watt’s Historic Win

In the T.P. Trailer Modified feature, the race saw Darrin Schuler initially take the lead, but Watt’s persistence paid off as he managed to slip past Swinehart for the lead with just a few laps to go. His impressive maneuvering amidst tough competition led him to secure his first-ever career win at Grandview Speedway, with Swinehart finishing second. Exciting performances were also noted from Duane Howard and Craig Whitmoyer, who clinched spots in the top five.
