Acquisition of Magnum Trailer & Equipment

FORT LUPTON, Colo., May 10, 2025 /CNW/ — The Merritt family of companies, including Merritt Aluminum Products and Merritt Trailers, is excited to announce the acquisition of Magnum Trailer & Equipment. This well-respected company, located in British Columbia, Canada, operates in three main areas: Truck Accessories, Trailer Manufacturing, and Service.

Merritt Companies, the parent company of Merritt Aluminum Products and Merritt Trailers, acquires Magnum Trailer & Equipment from Abbotsford, BC, Canada in May 2025.

Integration of Product Lines

Magnum Trailer & Equipment’s Truck Accessories division is renowned for its durable aluminum moose guards and modular front-end protection systems, specifically for Class 8 trucks. This division will closely collaborate with Merritt Aluminum Products to provide a comprehensive aluminum solution for customers within the heavy-duty trucking sector.

Word from Leadership

“This acquisition aligns with our strategic vision to offer superior aluminum products by merging the strengths of both organizations,” stated Taylor Merritt, CEO of Merritt Companies. “It’s focused on adding value for our customers, driving innovation, and upholding the shared values that have contributed to the success of both entities.”

Key Advantages of the Acquisition

  • Expanded Product Range: The integration will enhance the product line, providing broader coverage and versatility for both heavy and light-duty truck customers.
  • Improved Customer Service: Clients will experience enhanced access to products and more efficient service across an expanded geographic area.
  • Boosted Innovation: The merger of engineering teams and resources will accelerate product development and reduce time-to-market.
  • Collective Commitment to Quality: Both companies share a dedication to quality and customer satisfaction, making them stronger together.
  • Operational Synergies: The joining of companies will allow for shared technologies, optimized supply chains, and innovative design breakthroughs.

Maintaining Distinct Strengths

All divisions of Magnum Trailer & Equipment will maintain their unique attributes while benefitting from additional resources and support. The Truck Accessories division will work most closely with Merritt Aluminum Products due to the complementary nature of their offerings.

A Personal Connection

“The acquisition of Magnum by Merritt marks an exciting new chapter for our company. Our values align well, and our product lines complement each other. We look forward to strategically driving growth together,” said Andrew Taylor, CEO of Magnum Trailer & Equipment.

“This acquisition is both strategic and personal,” Taylor Merritt added. “Our family’s lineage is rooted in the Pacific Northwest, where we started nearly 75 years ago. Welcoming Magnum Trailer & Equipment into our family feels like a homecoming.” He also emphasized the long-standing personal relationship he has formed with Andrew Taylor, underlining their shared dedication to craftsmanship and vision for the industry.
