AMSOIL USAC Eastern Storm Launches at Grandview Speedway
The Grandview Speedway will kick off the 18th Annual AMSOIL USAC Eastern Storm, presented by Levan Machine & Truck Equipment, on Tuesday, June 17. This marks the beginning of six consecutive nights of non-wing racing across various tracks. This event, supported by Alpine Building Supply, is the second race in the NAPA Auto Parts Thunder on the Hill Racing Series and will feature the renowned USAC Touring Series.
Post time trials and qualifying events, the USAC Non-Wing Sprints will compete in the 40-lap Jesse Hockett Classic, offering a $6,000 prize for the victor. The lineup also includes the popular NASCAR 358 Modifieds, which will participate in heat races leading up to a 30-lap feature race with a $3,000 winner’s prize. Additionally, Alpine Building Supply is providing a $2,000 bonus for any first-time Thunder on the Hill Modified winner, making that victory worth $5,000. Last year, Eric Kormann secured both the win and bonus prize.
Advance Ticket Information
Advance tickets for the event on June 17 can be obtained by calling 443-513-4456. Please articulate clearly, stating your name and the number of tickets needed. Tickets can be paid for and collected at the WILL CALL window starting at 4:30 PM. Holders of advance tickets will gain entry to the grandstand at 4:30, half an hour before general admission tickets become available. Adult tickets are priced at $35, while children aged 6 to 11 are $10, and those aged 5 and under can enter for free. The pit fee is set at $45, with no license required.
Special Edition Merchandise for a Cause
In a first-of-its-kind initiative, Alpine Building Supply will sell a special edition Racing Series shirt featuring a 410 Sprint, Non-Wing 410 Sprint, and a 358 Modified on the back, with the Alpine Building Supply and Thunder on the Hill logos on the front. All proceeds from the shirt sales will benefit the Big Impact Group of Schuylkill County, a mentoring program that has supported local youth for over 35 years.
Exciting Lineup for NASCAR Modifieds
The NASCAR Modifieds are a fan favorite at any Thunder event. Eric Kormann, last year’s champion, will aim to defend his title amidst competition from notable entrants such as Brett Kressley, Craig VonDohren, and Jeff Strunk. The NASCAR Modifieds will adhere to the weekly Grandview car specifications and rules.
Point Fund and Expected Competitors
The six-race Eastern Storm will feature a $10,000 point fund sponsored by Levan Machine & Truck Equipment, a local Berks County business. Brian Levan, the President and CEO, is well known in the racing community and has a reputation for making things happen. Notable drivers expected to participate include current point leader Kyle Cummins alongside Justin Grant, Daison Pursley, and several past champions.
Past Champions and Future Events
Mitchel Moles from Raisin City, CA is the defending Eastern Storm Champion among a roster of elite National Non-Wing Sprint Car drivers. The champions’ list includes names like Emerson Axsom, Logan Seavey, and Robert Ballou. The 2025 champion will take home $5,000 from the total $10,000 point fund. Stay tuned for announcements regarding race night activities, including driver meet-and-greets across various tracks.
