Terex Utilities and Mack Trucks Join Forces

This battery-electric bucket truck features improved range and higher payload capacity compared to existing electric chassis models in the market.
Innovative Design Features
Equipped with Terex’s Optima HR55 aerial device, powered by the HyPower™ SmartPTO by Viatec, the truck utilizes the Mack MD7 Electric chassis, offering a utility vehicle that can travel longer distances while supporting heavier loads.
Superior Range and Payload
Initial tests suggest that this all-electric bucket truck outperforms other Class 6/7 medium-duty electric chassis bucket trucks, boasting up to 1.5 times more range and double the payload capacity on the rear axle. The SmartPTO allows the aerial device to operate independently, alleviating concerns about battery depletion during a workday.

Advanced Safety Features
The all-electric truck also integrates the 3rd Eye digital platform, which includes sophisticated camera systems and AI, enhancing both safety and operational productivity by providing real-time visibility around the vehicle with up to six HD cameras.
Availability and Future Outlook
Terex’s first all-electric bucket truck debuted in 2022, and many Terex models are currently operational across North America. This new Mack unit expands the options for electric utility customers seeking zero-emissions solutions, with availability expected in 2025 and standard delivery timelines ranging from 12 to 18 months.
