LADSON, S.C. (WCIV) — Experience a one-of-a-kind event with a “western” twist!

On April 5, the Lowcountry community will have the opportunity to enjoy the Lowcountry Autism Foundation’s Heavy Equipment Rodeo and Touch a Truck event. All proceeds from this event will support the Lowcountry Autism Foundation.

Participants will compete in various activities designed to assess agility, dexterity, and speed, all for the title of “BEST OF THE BEST” and the prestigious Grand Champion Rodeo Belt. The competition will feature heavy machinery like excavators, bulldozers, and skid steers.

This inclusive event is family-oriented and invites individuals with autism spectrum disorder and their families to join in. Noise-canceling hearing protection will be provided, along with designated cool-down areas across the venue.

Additional attractions include a touch-a-truck area, bouncy castles, food and drinks, as well as a fossil and shark tooth dig.

The festivities kick off at 11 a.m., with the rodeo commencing at 2 p.m. The event will wrap up at 4 p.m.
