Taylor Swift’s Generosity on the Eras Tour
Taylor Swift shows exceptional kindness to her Eras Tour crew.
Bonus Checks for Her Crew
The “Love Story” artist has rewarded each of the over 50 truck drivers on her Eras Tour with bonus checks of $100,000 as she concludes the U.S. leg of her immensely popular tour.
Recognition from Taylor’s Family
Mike Scherkenbach, CEO of Shomotion trucking company, shared with TODAY that Swift’s father personally handed out the checks along with handwritten letters from Taylor. “It’s amazing that they took the time, and it truly means a lot to our staff to be acknowledged,” he commented.
Bonuses for the Entire Team
Scherkenbach noted that Swift also provided bonuses to her band, backup dancers, and technical crew, with reports from People magazine indicating that total bonuses exceeded $55 million. Additionally, Swift contributed to charitable causes during her tour, including a donation to the Second Harvest Food Bank in Northern California last week.
A Positive Influence
“Having someone like Taylor reach out and inspire others with her generosity is truly refreshing,” commented Leslie Bacho, CEO of Second Harvest of Silicon Valley.
Seismic Impact of Her Concerts
Swift’s substantial donations seem fitting, as her concerts in Seattle last month were reported to have created seismic activity.
Clarifying the ‘Earthquake’
Western Washington University geology professor Jackie Caplan-Auerbach emphasized to TODAY.com that there wasn’t a traditional earthquake, stating, “While we associate ‘earthquake’ with tectonic activity, many factors, like vehicles or trains, can cause ground vibrations.”
Upcoming Tour Stops
Following her U.S. tour, Swift will head to Los Angeles for six performances at SoFi Stadium starting August 3, before continuing her international tour to locations in Mexico, South America, Asia, Australia, and Europe through 2024.
